The Parisian manuscript Decamerón de Boccaccio managed to surpass to such an extent the sort of " collections of cuentos" that they habian to him preceded so much in Europe as in the Eastern tradition, that by many models that we compare nothing it sufficiently explains impressive modernity and freshness that the manuscript contributes and the enormous one to please that it produces contemplating his extraordinary miniatures. Without doubt one is an authentic Renaissance treasure. In century XVII it belonged to the library of Marquess de Paulmy, founder of the library of the Arsenal of Paris, where at the moment it is conserved. Marquess de received it to Paulmy in the form of legacy of his uncle, Count de Argenson.

It does not contain the Italian version of the text, if his first translation to the French, realised around 1414 by the great French humanist Laurent de Premierfait. The manuscript perfectly is not documented. It was copied towards 1445-1450 by the cotrack Guillebert de Mets, in Gramont, Eastern Flanders for Duke de Bourgogne Philippe him Bon, great collector and booklover. Of both artists who illustrated the manuscript, we know that the first era of flamenco origin, that exerted in Touani and Lille during the decade from 1430 to 1440, specialized in books of hours. Its fine style is noticeable of italianismo. The second of the artists. call Jean Mansel, remarkable by the gentleness of its colors, apparently could have worked in Amiens.La black plague, the Schism of the West, the rivalries between feudal gentlemen, the crossed ones, the urban neciente burquesía, constitute an ebullient carpet where moraliestas sermons emerjen desenfadadas and contumbres… Against this background appears, according to Vittorre Branca, the most important work of the universal Literature and that but has influenced to the present time: The Decamerón de Boccacio
